Old, aged, timeless pieces that make us smile are surely here to remind us of fond memories whether that’s places we have visited, an overnight stay or people that have passed through our lives.
This hall robe reminds me of a family trip I took some decades ago and stayed in an old farmhouse somewhere in the Charente region of France.
I loved the wooden coat pegs it had inside and in the bottom there was a drawer. This one is just like it.
She probably hails from the Dutch borders and found it’s way into France. She’s rustic, homely and petite.
The gustavian look has been achieved by the way she had been painted, waxed and sympathetically distressed. I love her new ( well old looking) appearance
